Our Terms
- HIRE TERMS
All terms are quoted in £ (pound) sterling per week for the Holiday Home, equipped and as described, unless otherwise stated. For holiday homes in the UK as soon as the booking is made by you and confirmed by Break-Away (Howard Page) the hire terms are applicable.
- VAT
Hire terms include the national VAT at the current rate charges if applicable.
- NUMBER OF PERSONS
The maximum number of persons in each Holiday Home is shown in the individual holiday home particulars, except babies in cots where applicable, may not be accommodated. The Holiday Home owners reserve the right to terminate the hire without notice and without refund for a breach of this condition.
- OTHER EXTRAS
The particulars for such Holiday Homes state if certain items are not included in the hire terms. In such cases, the charge and/or method of charging e.g. by slot meter, is shown in the individual Holiday Home particulars, and forms part of the contract.
- PETS
A pet is allowed ONLY where indicated in the Holiday Home particulars. The charge for a pet is £20.00 per week, per pet plus VAT if applicable, and is payable at time of booking. You must inform Break-Away (Howard Page) that you are bringing ‘Rover’. Record this fact on the Booking Form. AT ALL HOMES, DOGS MUST BE EXERCISED ON A LEAD. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON BEDS OR CHAIRS IN ANY HOLIDAY HOME. DOGS MUST NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME IN ANY HOLIDAY HOME.
- INITIAL PAYMENT
You must send the initial payment stated with your booking form. It will be refunded if your booking is not confirmed.
- BALANCE OUTSTANDING
You are responsible for the whole of your holiday terms. The balance must be paid to Break Away (Howard Page) no later than 28 days before the hire starting date.
- BOOKING CANCELLATION
If you cancel your holiday you must immediately notify Break Away (Howard Page) in writing by first class post and enclosed your booking confirmation no later than 28 days before the hire booking date.
- NON ARRIVAL
If you do not arrive at the Holiday home by 4.00pm following your hire start date and have not advised Break away (Howard Page) that you will be late, the Holiday homeowner shall be entitled to place the holiday home for re-let forthwith under forgoing circumstances, and in accordance with condition 8 above. If the holiday home is not re-let for any part of the period of hire, you are responsible for the remaining portion of the balance hire.
- OCCUPATION
Unless otherwise agreed, the normal time for occupation is 4.00pm on the start date. Occupation before 4.00pm may not be allowed, unless prior arrangement as been made with Break Away (Howard Page) . If the holiday homeowner is prevented by circumstance’s beyond his control from making the holiday home available. And cannot provide an alternative, he will refund all monies paid by you but no further liability will be accepted.
- DEPARTURE
The Holiday Home must be vacated by 10.00am on the final day of hire and MUST BE LEFT IN A CLEAN CONDITION AND BREAKAGES REPORTED. KEYS SHOULD BE RETURNED TO HOWARD PAGE
- MINORS
Bookings from persons under 18 years of age cannot be accepted.
- UNSUITABLE HIRERS
The Holiday home owner reserves the right to decline or refuse to hand over a Holiday Home to any person who, in his opinion is not suitable to take charge. In this case, the hire terms paid shall be refunded in full and the contract shall not be liable for a refund or a refund of any portion of the hire terms paid.
- MODIFICATIONS & DESCRIPTIONS
Every effort has been made to ensure that individual home descriptions contained in the details are correct. The Holiday Home owner reserves the right to alter, modifications to his holiday home specifications that are considered new in the light of operating requirements. In the interest of improvements the holiday home owner reserves the right to alter or delete furniture, fittings, amenities of facilities.
- HIRERS RESPONSIBILITY
The hirer is responsible for the Holiday home and its equipment for the duration of the holiday home hire and is expected to take all reasonable care of it. The holiday is fully furnished but soap, cleaning materials, toiletries, towels, dish clothes, etc.. Are NOT included. Bed linen is NOT provided you will need to bring your own Sheets, Pillow Cases and Duvet Covers. You are advised to check on arrival and report any shortcomings, damaged or missing items immediately to Break Away (Howard Page) AT NO TIME CAN ANY FURNITURE OR BEDDING BE REMOVED OR EXCHANGED WITH ANY OTHER. HOLIDAY HOMES ARE INDIVIDUAL AND PRIVATELY OWNED. The hirer undertakes to report and pay for any damage caused to the Holiday home or of equipment lost, broken or stolen during the occupation of the Holiday home. Unsuitable substitutes are not accepted. All equipment, utensils etc...MUST BE LEFT IN A CLEAN CONDITION AT THE END OF THE HIRE PERIOD. A security deposit may be required at the time of occupancy. If no loss or damage has occurred, the security deposit will be repaid to the hirer. If the property is not left in a clean , tidy and suitable condition then you will be charged an additional fee.
- HIRERS PROPERTY
The Holiday Home owner does not accept any liability for loss of or damage to personal effects, baggage, motor cars, motor car accessories or to any member of the hirers party, except in so far as the loss of damage arises from substantial defect or damage existing in the Holiday Home owner but for his negligence
- DISPUTES
Any dispute, difference or questions which may at any time arise out of the contract or subject matter thereof shall be referred to a single arbitrator to be nominated by the President of the time being, of the Law Society on the application of each party in accordance with the provisions of the Arbitration Act 1950, or statutory modifications or re-enactment thereof for the time being in force
